Memorial Day
Start of Summer
Newsletter.
Dear Friends and family (both blood and chosen),
It is 6:30 PM, Memorial day, the unofficial start of summer. I had not left my apartmen or put on pants all day. I decide I need to get out.
I go to the Steak and Egger. The sign om the window says “We doze but never close” In fact, they are open from 6 AM to 10 PM. Things change. In fact, I and youcan never step in the same river twice. The river changes and we change.
One thing that never changes, it is time to begin again. We need to start from where we , with what I have, and move toward what we want.
I have lost track of how many times, I wrote a version of these words. Still it does not matter how often I fall down, what matter is how often I get back up.
I am reminded of a fictional candidate for president.
“I am here to tell you that hope is real, in a life of trials and a world of challenges hope is real…..In a time of global chaos, and instability where our faiths collide as often as our weapon, hope is real. Hope is not up for debate. There’s such a thing as false signs, as false promises but there is no such thing as false hope. There is only hope.”
I am inspired and hopeful.
Will Bunch proposes anger.
“I choose anger — righteous, focused, nonviolent rage” against … the false prophets and the political hucksters. the machine of… denial …
What do you think?
Will you join me on my journey?
Much love
Fred

yep that is the question. I also suppose I have a question about what "realistic" means to you.
I am hopeful that RFK, Jr. will be elected President of the USA. I am hopeful that there is life after death. I am hopeful that every human being will be raised from the dead and transformed into their best selves. I consider one of these hopes to be very unrealistic.
